Chris McCoy – President
Chris McCoy brings decades of mechanical expertise, academic excellence, and industry leadership to his role as President. A proud graduate of the U.A.-accredited apprenticeship program through Local 250, Chris has built his career on a foundation of technical mastery, consistent performance, and a deep dedication to the craft of HVAC/R and pipe trades.
Early in his career, Chris earned top honors as the Gold Medalist in the State of California VICA SkillsUSA competition, setting the tone for a trajectory defined by discipline and excellence. He was named California Pipe Trades Apprentice of the Year and earned the Number One Apprentice Award, as well as multiple Jim Brummitt Memorial Academic Awards. His commitment to education was further recognized with the Leon Maxwell Award for outstanding scholastic achievement and the Perfect Attendance Award from the JJATC. He also earned the Highest STAR EXAM Award, a distinction reserved for those who demonstrate elite knowledge and skill during apprenticeship.
Chris is a certified instructor for the UA pipe trades, where he trains both journeymen and apprentices, sharing his expertise in real-world applications and elevating the next generation of mechanical professionals. He holds multiple factory certifications for both chillers and control systems, making him a trusted authority for installations, diagnostics, and high-level retrofits. His credentials also include NCCCO Certified Signalperson and Practical Examiner, AWS welding certification, and Arc Flash safety training—a rare blend of field capability and safety compliance expertise.
With a hands-on leadership style and an unmatched dedication to quality, Chris continues to lead by example, guiding teams, mentoring technicians, and upholding the values of excellence that define M.R. Mechanical.
Josh Robarge – Vice President
As Vice President of M.R. Mechanical, Josh Robarge brings a global perspective, technical depth, and leadership experience to every project. A graduate of the Universal Technical Institute (UTI), Josh has spent his career working on some of the most advanced HVAC systems in the world and leading teams with precision and integrity.
Josh is SMARDT certified and has received advanced factory training in magnetic bearing chillers (Turbocor), modular chiller systems, and MCS control retrofits. His deep technical background includes TRANE centrifugal teardown training, equipping him to manage complex chiller rebuilds and high-efficiency system retrofits with confidence.
Before joining M.R. Mechanical, Josh held the role of Service Foreman for a major local union contractor, where he led service teams on large-scale commercial and industrial projects. Earlier in his career, he traveled the globe as the Lead Chiller Technician for Disney on Ice, maintaining critical cooling systems for a high-profile, fast-moving international operation—an experience that sharpened his troubleshooting skills and adaptability in high-pressure environments.
Josh’s ability to lead, train, and troubleshoot at the highest levels has made him a cornerstone of M.R. Mechanical’s service division. His approach is hands-on, client-focused, and rooted in delivering lasting performance. Whether he’s commissioning a modular chiller bank or guiding a retrofit project with strict time constraints, Josh ensures that every job is done with precision, safety, and pride.
